Also known as the “Devil’s Triangle“, the Bermuda Triangle consists of a region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean, and is defined by points in Bermuda, Florida and Puerto Rico. It stretches across less than a thousand miles on any one side. The triangle does not exist according to the US Navy and the name is not recognized by the US Board on Geographic Names. This mysterious body of water is filled with incredible stories and rumors that if not supernatural or otherworldly. Is it possible that this imaginary triangle is evidence of extraterrestrial activity on our Planet? One thing’s for sure, over the past century, the Bermuda Triangle has been “swallowing” vessels and disappearing airplanes and is blamed for the loss of hundreds of lives.
Now, a scientific project led by Italian experts wants to explain the mystery behind this infamous zone. According to them, the real cause of the anomaly known as the Bermuda Triangle in outer space. The team of researchers from the National Institute of Astrophysics of Bologna in Italy, led by specialist Ricardo Campana is prepared to monitor and regularly measure the mysterious ocean region known academically as the South Atlantic Anomaly, determined by a geographical triangle with vertices in Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Florida.
According to many people the bermuda triangle is one of the largest anomalous zones on planet Earth, and while most people think the bermuda triangle is only located on water, only a few people know that its anomalous region extends hundreds of kilometers in-land.
Even Astronauts, Russian Cosmonauts and pilots from around the world have spoken about the Bermuda Triangle saying to have seen flashes of light when flying over the area, moments in which, according to many, electronic flight instruments appear to malfunction.
Previous satellite measurements were able to show that the Van Allen belt ie, the inner radiation belt of the earth which is a layer of energetic charged particles, is located closer to the surface of our planet precisely over the region of the Bermuda Triangle. Scientists speculate that the variation of the Van Allen belt and its proximity on this area could lead to the numerous mysteries that have been connected to the area: the disappearance of ships and airplanes and mysterious weather phenomena.
Some researchers believe that the anomalous zone is not static, but is moving from its current position towards the Gulf of Mexico.
