Our Universe Should Not Exist, Scientists Say

Discoveries Mysticism Science Universe

Scientists who do not have the ability to understand how the cosmos did not destroy itself, in the beginning, say that our Universe should not exist.

According to the recent discovery, in the origin of our Universe, there were equal amounts of matter and antimatter which should have collided, annihilating each other, but mysterious which did not happen.

This led some scientists to come to a conclusion that the Universe in which we live should not exist.

According to that standard model of physics, for example, experts, the cosmos should have destroyed itself when it was actually formed.

The reason for this is that the Universe has been created with equal amounts of matter and antimatter, which has to have collided and instantly annihilated each other. However, this never occurred, leaving scientist awestruck.

Some researchers that have spent years and years on looking for a difference between antimatter and matter which explains why they didn’t cancel each other out at the time when the cosmos has been created.

The last possibility that scientists researched was that matter and antimatter could have a different magnetism.

However, one new research reveals that they are completely the same, which actually depends on the mystery of why the Universe still exists.

Antimatter is like the mirror of the ordinary matter. The ordinary atoms are actually made up of positively charged nuclei orbited by negatively charged electrons.

But, their antimatter counterparts are different. They actually have positive nuclei and charged electrons, which are known as positrons.

When matter and antimatter cross their paths, they instantly obliterate each other, in that way discharging a burst of detectable energy.

It is also believed that the famous Big Bang also produced equal amounts of matter and antimatter, and is should have destroyed all the matter that existed.

However, today the Universe is composed mainly of ordinary matter with almost no traces of antimatter. Over the years, there was a variety of possibilities which were sought to explain the mystery. Some of them include observing the differences in charge and mass between antimatter, as well as matter.

A new super-accurate measurement which was performed by scientists at CERN or the European Organization for Nuclear Research has investigated whether the magnetism that matter and antimatter have is different.

Being a surprise for many of them, the tests showed that they have some identical magnetic properties, which also led some scientists to wonder why our Universe is still there.

One of the researchers, named Christian Smorra, said that all of their observations found a complete symmetry between matter and antimatter. He also said:

An asymmetry has to exist somewhere here, but we simply do not understand where the difference is. What is the source of the symmetry break?

There is still to be some reasons why we are all here living and breathing. Either that or every one of us exists in a massive computer simulation.
