Traveling: The World's Best Teacher

Traveling is both a gift and a privilege. There are countless of memories and lessons that you will learn during your travels.  Traveling builds your confidence as you embark on adventures into the unknown.

So, here are 5 reasons why traveling is the best teacher.

Money Matters.

What's the best way to show off your classroom math skills than being able to understand foreign currency?  Learn how to spend your money wisely and practically with unfamiliar notes and coins.

Develop Cultural Empathy.

You can embrace all things that are unique and different from what you are used to. Your language, culture, or skin color isn’t the only one out there.

Learn Different Languages

Traveling develops your listening and speaking capabilities. Being able to communicate in someone else’s language makes life much easier. So in a way, travel forces you to learn languages to at least be able to say "hello", "please" and "thank you". The locals will respect and admire your effort as long as you attempt!

Improve Planning and Management

Planned travels are beneficial but along the way you must also learn how to be flexible. Things might not go as planned but you just need to hustle through. Whether you’re planning a trip with friends or going solo, a lot of planning and coordination are required to book your tickets, get your visa, find the best budget places to stay etc. When you're at your destination, relax your itinerary enough to discover hidden gems.

Accept the Unknown

Both traveling and life involve acceptance of the unknown. When you travel, the only thing certain is uncertainty.  Accept it, embrace it, and learn from it.

School will make you smart, the world will make you wise. Have fun and pack light.
